An important part of our mission statement is that we garden together—to create a shared vision, work collaboratively, and cultivate a place where individuals, families, and friends can learn about and experience the rewards of organic gardening.

The board has approved the development of Plot #18 as a Teaching Garden (and Learning Garden, too!). LFCG’s veteran gardener and retired educator, Susan Sundell, is leading this initiative with beautiful new raised beds and strong community support. Thanks to her vision, the Teaching Garden—a project long in the works—is finally becoming a reality in Plot #18.

We envision classes on a wide range of gardening topics and know you will enjoy learning something new. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or a newcomer to the joys of gardening, keep an eye out for upcoming classes and projects at Teaching Garden #18.

And of course, be sure to check out the progress! Take a stroll along the newly opened pathway that connects our two beautiful areas—lovingly maintained by Evelyn, another long-time LFCG gardener—and see what’s new.

Happy Spring Gardening!
